Introduction

A vessel is obligated by I.M.O., S.O.L.A.S. and Flag Administrations to ensure the safe escape of the crew in the unlikely event of an accident. The means of escape include the Lifeboats and their Launching Appliances. Inspection of Lifeboat and Launching Appliances is a service offered for all kinds of lifeboats (conventional lifeboat, freefall lifeboat, rescue boat) and davits (freefall davits, conventional davits, rescue and life raft davits and winches) that targets their safe operation for escape in the unlikely event of abandoning ship.

Experience

Navaltech’s team members have all the necessary experience, knowledge and qualifications in order to carry out lifeboat and launching appliances inspections. All our service engineers have numerous years of experience in the field of lifeboat and launching appliances inspections and they regularly participate in trainings by manufacturers specialized in safety. Moreover, our company has developed a training system that complies with MSC 402 (96) and ISO 23678, in order to ensure our engineers are excellently trained, using the latest technology and equipment which is necessary to satisfy our clients and Classification Societies. Our training system requires that all our service engineers attend at least twice a year our internal training courses, that are both practical (on-board vessels) and theoretical (in the office).
